Rainbow Day Nursery is registered for the care and education of 72 children within four accessible rooms on the ground floor:

Babies - 3 months to approx. 17 months

Toddlers - approx. 17 months to 2 years

Early Learners - 2 years to approx. 3 years

Pre-school - approx. 3 years to Reception age

There are 3 large secure outdoor areas in which children can play, facilitating their learning from the natural environment. We have recently been part of an Outdoor Learning Initiative, through which we received educational outdoor learning resources and staff training to enable children to lead their own learning through problem solving and working with and alongside their peers.

The Every Child A Talker Programme (ECaT) forms part of our planning, and is designed to help staff to create a developmentally appropriate, supportive and stimulating environment in which children can enjoy experimenting with and learning language through everyday, fun and interesting activities which reflect their interests. It encourages good links between staff and parents, offering support and advice on how to support their child's early language development.

Each child's individual development is tracked and planned for using regular observation and assessment to enable  next steps to be included in weekly planning. These observations will be included in your child's Learning Journey, which will be available to you at all times.
